Welcome
to Gems Childcare.
I am Gemma, an NNEB qualified and registered childminder and a member of the National Childminding Association (NCMA) with whom I am fully insured.
I am registered with Ofsted, the Office for Standards in Education.
Ofsted carry out regular assessments to ensure the quality of care provided, I am proud to say that following my most recent assessment I was awarded "outstanding", a standard not achieved by many.
My husband James and I have two children, Lauren and Katie. We live in a 3 bed house in a quiet cul-de-sac in the Shephall area of Stevenage, close to Pear Tree School and Nursery at which my children attend. Neither my husband or I smoke and we keep only fish as pets.
I worked as a senior nursery nurse in a well-established private day nursery for 4 ½ years and have been childminding at home since 2003.
Our facilities used for childminding include a large safe and secure garden for outdoor play with many activities including various types of children’s games, a TP climbing frame with slide, bikes and a trampoline with safety enclosure, inside we have a large playroom fully furnished with children’s toys, equipment and materials suitable for all ages.
